Saving money

This past weekend of 25/09/10 was full of activities, amongst which was the yearly raya open houses. This time round the kids were given "green pow".

Viki : Ok, tomorrow you kids can either go shopping or you can save the money.
Ash : Yippee...we can go shopping.
Jay: I think I want to save my money.
Viki : Good on you Jayden!
Jay: So that next time I do not need to work so hard.

I am a pink man

After playing on Saturday with Lauren (Luen and Audrey's daughter who speaks with an American accent), Jayden started imitating the slang..

Viki : Why are you talking with that accent? You are not a white man? You are a chinese boy.
Jayden : (Answers with an accent) I am not white, I am not chinese, I am a pink man!!

Cheezels vs Cheese

Jayden : Is cheezels good for you?

Viki : Definitely not!!

Jayden : But it is made from cheese !

Jayden is now at Primary 4 of his Yamaha Music Course. Reading of notes is always quite difficult for him. Every now and then, teacher Nancy would get them all to sit on the floor and she will randomly point at some notes on the board the the children will have to read them.

Teacher Nancy: Jayden ...what is this note?


Jayden : (Confidently) SO

That night at home:

Viki : Jayden, today in class, when you were asked to read the note "SO"...did you really know that it was "SO" or was it a guess?

Jayden started giggling non stop...he rolled over on the bed and laughed and laughed.

Jayden : Guessed it!!

From straight to curly...

I had my hair blown straight two days ago. Today, back to the norm, I washed my own hair and while I was walking down the stair way, Jayden noticed and said

"Mom!!!! How did your curls come back?!!!!"

In the past weeks, he has been suggesting names for a new baby...just in case we decide to have another one ;)

On the way back from music today

Jayden : Mama, Berry is also a nice name.

Viki : But I thought you wanted a baby boy. Berry is a girl's name

Jayden: Girl also I will like lah. Two girls also I will like!!

Eraser on my neck

Today on the way back from gymnastics..

Jayden : Mom I am sweating.
Viki : Surely...you were running like a crazy boy at gym just now.
Jayden: And my neck has all these yucky things.
Viki: What yucky things?
Jayden: Like the things you get when you use an eraser!

From Circles and Heart to...

Today was Ashley and Jayden's 2nd day at art.

The teacher gave them two circles and part of a heart shape to work on...

While they had their class ( 2 hours) I went to get a hair cut. When I came back to class..

Viki: Wow...Jayden, that is very nice. I like your pokemon.
Then he walks away to wash his brushes and changes his water. He then walks up to me and whispered to me..."MOM, It is NOT Pokemon..it is a tiger!!"

Chinese Goreng Pisang or Malay Goreng Pisang

I wonder whether you noticed that the chinese style of fried bananas is different from the Malay style.

Usually before I send Jayden for reading, we will eat something in the car on the way to class.

Viki: What would you like to eat tomorrow before reading class?
Jay: Roti Canai
Viki : You mean, goreng pisang?
Jay: Yes, goreng pisang
Viki: Ok
Jay: But Mama...remember to buy the Chinese goreng pisang!

And a 5-year old can tell the difference !!!!

Henna vs Hannah

Today I decided to go all natural and had my hair dyed with henna. It is a paste like formula which is put on the hair. I had in done in the morning and it was glad-wrapped so that the paste can stay on the hair for the next five hours. After doing that, I fetched the kids from school.

Jayden: What is that on your hair?

Viki : It is hair dye

Jayden: Why is it like mud?

Viki : It is henna

Jayden: What?

Viki : I put henna on my head.

Jayden: What...you put Hannah on your head and then she poo-poo!!

Jayden's 5th Birthday Party

Jayden turned 5 on 30th January 2009 and we celebrated it at the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park with some of this close friends and our relatives. Enjoy the photos!!

Viki : I dont know.

Viki : Yes, I am sure he does.

Dad, we got you a marathon book

Christmas is around the corner. As usual, my family celebrates it big scale (though most of us are free thinkers). But guess it is a time when we pause for a moment and remember our close relatives and try very hard to guess what they would like for Christmas!!!

So today, I went to Borders at The Gardens near Mid Valley with Jayden and Ashley. We walked quite a bit to search for the perfect gift for their papa. Alas, we decided to get him a book.

Then we went home. Jeff came back and as he was coming into the hall...

Jayden : Papa, you got a Marathon Book!

Viki : SHHHHHHH...it is a surprise for your papa.

Jayden: No lah , Papa, it is not a marathon book...it is a Tiger Book!!!

I had a dream

Shell is having a promotion on James Bond cars. Jayden has three cars. Two days ago, Mili sent him to meet up with me at Mega Mall and he left them in her car. He has been asking for them and cannot wait to get them back. This morning...

Jayden: I had a dream yesterday
Viki: What was it about?
Jayden: I dream of the Lotus car (which is one of the model of the James Bond cars)
Viki: What about it?
Jayden: That I was playing with it
Viki: Oh
Jayden: I also dreamt that you bought me some more new cars!!

James is Born

Shell is currently having a promotion. With every purchase of Shell Petrol, you are entitled to purchase a miniature car. I managed to get hold of the Lotus Esprit for Jayden.

Viki: Here you go, this is a car which James Bond used in one of his movies.

Jayden: James Bond

Viki: Yes, James Bond

My Heart is Pain

Viki : If someone comes and tells you that you got the wrong papa and mama, what will you do?

Jayden: Huh?

Viki: I meant if he/she said you got a another papa and mama, and that they are here to get you...they are your new papa and mama who will buy you all the toys, lego dinosaur, chocolates, vitgens etc....

Jayden: I dont want!

Viki: Why?

Rain Rain Go Away

Today, while I was driving the kids to the park

Jay: Where are we going?
Viki: We have to pick Papa from the train station first and then we go to the park.
Jay: Ok.....

When I reached a set of traffic lights, it turned red. We waited for quite some time and suddenly out of the blue

Jay: Quick lah lights..move on!!

He was asking the lights to turn green ! Then i turned around to look at him and he had the frown on his face...

Viki: Why are you looking so worried?
Jay: Aiyo, better hurry, I am scared the rain will come.

See, even little children have stress!! He was really stressed thinking that we had to pick Jeff before going to the park . Further more, it has been raining for so many days and we have not gone to the park for about a week as it rains every evening!
