I am back!!! Milestones...

Its been almost a year since I last blogged.

I will try to start and continue blogging again :)

I have missed out so much...and would have forgotten quite a lot of things too.

My dearest Papa has since left us (21/01/2010).

I have shifted into a new house (12/2009)

Lizi had her baby, Amanda Loong (02/04/10)

The kids have grown...

Jayden turned 6.

Hannah turned 2..

Ashley turned 5 ...

I ran my first sub-3 hours half marathon.

I turned 38 (and am liking it)

And this month marks a very special month... Jeff's turns 40 ...

And many many more milestones ...in my next few chapters. :)

Jayden Graduates

Jayden turned five in January and at that point of a child's life, any mother would have thought that Montessori would be enough and thereafter advance their child to the 3R method. Well...as for me.. always crying NO TIME, NO TIME..managed to do so only in May 2009. Here are some farewell photos and I have yet to take some photos of him in his new school uniform.

Jayden can read

Like all eager mothers, I decided that Jayden MUST learn to read asap...or else he would find difficulty when he goes to Standard One....

So I started him on reading classes. Twice a week. With Hooked on English (they are excellent). Started in Oct 2008....

But be careful for what you wish...because now he can read and doesnt want me to read to him anymore...I am definitely suffering from withdrawal syndrom.

NO CHINESE SCHOOL

This episode helped me decide between a Chinese School and Non Chinese School for Jayden.

Jay: What can I do now?
Viki: Well, why don't you practise writing your chinese name?
Jay: Ok.
Then he writes this (picture below)...I was so proud of him and then we showed it to his grandfather (who is a retired chinese school teacher)

Yeh Yeh: Wrong!!!
Viki: What? Wrong? Huh? Alamaaaaaaak

Then we called the school teacher to find out and true enoough...they taught him to write ONG instead of WONG. The correct character is

See what I mean. Luckily Yeh Yeh (who was visiting us) noticed the mistake. We could have gone on and on practising to write the wrong character. Will we be so lucky all the time with his homework? I doubt!!! So no chinese school for Jayden because the only characters his mummy can read are the characters in the mah jong set!!!

But the question still continues...private school or public school?

Punishment Time

This is the latest way in which Jeff punishes the kids. They are really scared of the STOOL!
